The End, for now 18.04.2021 This has been a fun ride. I'm probably going to stop posting since I've finished the project. However, I might revive this in the future; just for posting my thoughts and such. Writing blog posts was very interesting because I could easily spread my advice and thoughts. See you next time!

Blogging on Tilda vs. Blogging on Blogger 18.04.2021 Most of you may not know this, but I used to have another blog before this. I used the Tilda platform, which was a platform for creating websites. Tilda works on the premise of using building blocks to construct websites. For example, you may add a header with the website name and the main menu, an item list, and then a footer with some of the website information. It was very fun to build your website like that, and surprisingly simple too! Looking at your work after finishing it was very rewarding. I blogged on Tilda for approximately 4 months, uploading once every 1-3 days. I stopped posting because I ran out of blog ideas. I didn't really get any money or major viewership from it, but it was certainly a very fun experience while it lasted. Blogger is a little more straightforward. You just select a website template and write posts. Posts are made using a simple editor; I would compare it to Google Documents, but with fewer fea...

Places that I want to visit 17.04.2021 There are a lot of places that I want to visit. Some of them are nice mountainous countries and others are large, modern cities. Nearly all of them are different but still beautiful. So let's begin. The place that I wanted to visit the most is New York City. The view of the skyscrapers is just breathtaking, especially at night. I know that it isn't as clean as shown in the movies and is full of trash everywhere. I really do not care about that, I still think that it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It truly shows how far humanity has come, from stone and wood tools to skyscrapers over a third of a mile tall. Another place on my list is Switzerland. It is a beautiful mountainous country known for many things: chocolate, cheese, and AMAZING views. I want to visit the country in summer or spring because, in my opinion, it looks the best during these seasons. There are many more things to Switzerland than what I mentioned: lar...

How I learned English 16.04.2021 I speak English fluently now, despite being born a Russian speaker. I did not take any lessons other than what they gave us at school, and we all know that these ones usually do not get you very far. It was all at the center of a videogame called Roblox, which most people reading this are probably familiar with. If you aren't, Roblox is an online platform where anyone can create games. These games span across almost every genre; obstacle courses, shooters, strategies, and RPGs. I began playing Roblox around 2014, which is usually regarded as the last year of the "old" era. I was 7 back then, and I found it from a YouTube comment section. According to the person making the comment, it had fun Halloween games. It was late October at the time, so I was slightly interested and downloaded it. One of the first games I joined was a dance club; I remember walking around with everybody speaking English around me. I still didn't know it at the...

Common distractions and how to eliminate them 15.04.2021 It's sometimes very easy to get distracted, especially when doing online work. You've got the whole internet at your disposal, and that's billions of hours of entertainment and interesting information. Obviously, studying is important, but sometimes procrastinating takes its toll. Here are some tips on how I deal with these distractions. Also, before I start, I have to mention that setting up a timer is important. When resting, give yourself 5-20 minutes so that you don't end up spending too much time doing nothing. 1. Messaging services By messaging services, I mean things like WhatsApp and Discord. Talking with your friends is very important, and I definitely agree with that. However, when studying, these two are likely to take up much of your time. I find that turning your phone notifications off or simply putting the phone away works. That way, when you go to fetch your phone, you have more time to consider wh...

All Microsoft Office applications ranked 14.04.2021 We all have used Microsoft Office applications at some point, and I'm sure that many of you use them now. This includes stuff like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I'll be ranking many of them in terms of ease of use and usefulness. I'll also be excluding Microsoft Access (database controlling), as it's very useful but many people haven't had any experience with it. 6. Microsoft Publisher This is at the bottom of my list because it doesn't have a lot of features and isn't even used by most people. For those unaware, Publisher is used for creating booklets and posters. I've had to use it for a school project about a year ago, and I was wondering why I didn't just use Word or Powerpoint. However, I suppose that it has its uses. 5. Microsoft OneNote OneNote is basically just used for creating notes. It's useful when you want to have reminders and other things easily and quickly set up. However, many p...

My opinion on International Schooling 12.04.2021 For those unaware (basically nobody), International Schooling is the school that I'm currently enrolled in. I am in 8th grade and have less than 2 weeks remaining until the end of the year. It is a completely online school, meaning that you don't have to go anywhere to enroll or study. Everything can be done from your computer at home. I've already made a post where I compared online education to regular education, so we'll skip that topic for now. Overall, I think that the lessons are informative and very easy to understand. I had some issues with some Science lessons and needed to watch a few videos to understand the topic better, but other than that, I like them. The thing where you have to finish a quiz/test once you start it is not a bad design decision. However, the LMS tends to lag out sometimes, prompting you to refresh it. At those times, I get locked out of the quiz/test after refreshing it, which is pretty inco...

How to get a lot of school overdues done quickly 10.04.2021 During my times of online education, I've found myself procrastinating frequently. Due to this, I sometimes get a lot of overdue assignments; like projects, lessons, and some other things. These tend to form a complete heap; when you get done with one thing, more pour in, and you have to overwork yourself to get them done. I've already had that happen once or twice, and the solution is not very simple. However, it's your best shot at it. Depending on how many overdue assignments you have, give yourself a few days to complete all or most of them. If you don't, you will end up punishing yourself in some way. Try to tell somebody else about it so that they'll remind you of it, and maybe even follow up on the punishments. This will give you some sort of motivation to keep working. This may seem very stressful at first, and it may be, but so far it's the most effective method I've used. So, to finish th...

Guitar as a hobby 09.04.2021 (Blogger has been malfunctioning for the past few days, so I'll try to increase my post frequency to make up for it) I've been playing guitar for a year and a half, and I've acquired several pieces of advice for both myself and other people. I wouldn't really say that I'm the best, but I'm happy with my progress, and that is point one. Your progress is important, and try to keep track of it. Record yourself playing songs, revisit difficult songs that you had trouble learning before, and always compare yourself to what you were a week or a month ago. Instead of trying to loathe yourself for not playing like a virtuoso, be happy that you've gone so far on your journey already. Another way to see this is to just flip your guitar over; try playing it left-handed if you're right-handed, or vice versa. You barely will be able to play anything; but when you go to your normal position, you'll realize how much better you've go...

Global warming: a rising issue 06.04.2021 (I wr ote this yesterday b ut forgot to publish it, so there will be two posts today). There are plenty of ways for people to stop global warming. You can do things as simple as telling other people about it or doing it in a more expensive way: such as buying vehicles powered by electricity. I will not be talking about obvious things such as riding a bicycle instead of a car, instead, I will be talking about ways that are a little less obvious. Let's jump into the list. One thing you could do is to not leave fully charged devices plugged in. By leaving a device plugged in when you do not need to, you are adding up to the output of a power plant. So please keep that in mind and adjust your computers so that they absorb the least amount of energy possible when not in use. You could also reduce water waste. It takes plenty of energy to heat and pumps your water. Remember to always turn the tap off unless you need it to be on. If only 1/100 Ame...

Why can't we find any alien life? 03.04.2021 Our planet is full of very diverse life, ranging from fish that live in the deepest parts of the ocean to birds flying high up in the sky, and us, who built a giant planet-spanning civilization. Earth is nearly synonymous with life since it's bustling all around it. But is there life anywhere else? So far, the only definite proof of life we have is on this planet. Naturally, we seek more, by creating theories, sending radio signals into space, and generally just trying to get the proof of our existence out into the cosmos. However, we have yet to catch any definite evidence that alien life exists. But since space is so huge, why isn't anybody responding? This is the Fermi Paradox. There are many galaxies with an almost unimaginable amount of stars, a lot of which have planets in the habitable zone. This means that it's not too far nor too close to the star. Imagine how many possibly life-bearing planets there are that...

The importance of music taste appreciation 02.04.2021 One topic I feel strongly about is probably the unique individuality of art and music tastes. It's impressive how preferences can vary so much between different people and how wide or narrow they can get. I think that tastes in art are probably the best examples of human individuality, creativity, and discovery. They also have the capability to unite people; have you ever become friends with someone just because you listened to the same music? It’s incredible; and so is the freedom that everybody has over finding and creating their own compositions or styles. However, I feel that many people do not understand this topic well. I’ve seen many, many arguments over music tastes and which music is better or worse. This is especially noticeable amongst people who listen to more obscure music; you will often find that they call more mainstream, modern styles such as rap and/or pop inferior in...
